Planting Design for a Small garden

Below is a small planting plan of the garden I have designed for a the front and back garden planting, situated in West Wickham. The projects brief was to create an enclosed, private garden with plants that would create an area of clam and quietness. I chose a wide variety of plants including, Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' to plant at the back of the border as well as an Aucuba japonica for height and privacy. For the front of the border I chose low growing, good ground cover plants such as a Geranium cantabrigiense 'Biokono' and Vinca major.

Summer Internship at PRP Architects

Throughout my summer I have been working alongside a team of landscape architects at PRP, based in London. I have gained much experience throughout my time here so far and it has given me a real insight into what the world of working in a practice is like. I have managed to put my skills learnt during the first year of university to good use, as well as enhancing them and developing new ones. I have helped on a variety of projects, some at a much larger scale than others. I have also been given my own site to develop and design, based in the London borough of Redbridge. During this project  I have had to attend consultations, come up with a strong concept, design planting plans, help put together a Design & Access statement and develop a new playground/courtyard for the residents.
