5 HOUSE PLANTS FOR IMPROVING AIR QUALITY               


House plants are a very simple, but effective way of brightening the home, increasing oxygen levels,  boosting well-being and reducing stress levels.                                                                             

1. Aloe Vera

This plant is essential to have in any home. Known for it’s healing properties, it will soothe any burns, whilst purifying the air of toxins found in detergents and varnishes.

2. Spider Plants

These plants filter airborne toxins from air in your home. This is also a perfect plant for house plant  newbies as they are very resilient! 

3. Peace Lily

One of the top indoor plants for cleaning air. This plant breaks down toxic gases such as carbon

monoxide and benzene.

4. Snake Plant

This plant releases oxygen at night helping you to breathe better whilst sleeping, so is a great addition to your bedroom.

5. Boston Fern

These plants are known for their air purifying abilities, but in particular for removing pollutants from car exhausts. Perfect if you live by a busy road!

Illustrator Practice

Each week I spend two days working in a multidisciplinary practice, working alongside the landscape team gaining invaluable knowledge and skills on my journey to becoming a landscape architect. Today I focused on creating a constraints and opportunities diagram for a site in Croydon in which  we are working on. PROJECT 2: ROBERTO BURLE MARX ROBERTO BURLE MARX: 1909-1994 He was a Brazilian Landscape Architect, as well as painter, ecologist, naturalist, artist & musician.  His designs of Parks and Gardens made him famous.  He is accredited with having introduced modernist Landscape Architecture to Brazil.  Burke Marx's work has had a great influence on tropical garden in the 20th Century. Water gardens were a popular theme of his work. He had a skill of transferring traditional artistic expressions such as graphic design, tapestry & folk art into his Landscape Design. He was one of the first people to call for the conservation of Brazils Rainforests.
