TASK 3: LINE - MOVEMENT

VIDEO 1: TIDAL MOVEMENT

LOCATION: In front of the Maritime Greenwich Campus.

This short video captures the tidal movement of the River Thames, and the movement of the water. The video was filmed over two days, one during high tide and the other during low tide, showing the difference in pattern and force of the water crashing against the side. I have filmed the river from a variety of different angles.

VIDEO 2: WILD GRASS MOVEMENT:

Location: Cutty Sark & Dreadnought Wharf

In this video I captured the delicate movement of wild grasses blowing in the wind. I love the smooth texture of the grass and the way they move so beautifully in the wind as a single collective.

Project 5: Intervention Site Survey & Analysis

The aim of this task was to choose a location for a landscape intervention. My chosen site was Twinkle Park, Deptford, the surrounding residential area and the local community space/allotments. Below are a series of diagrams that have enabled me to analysis the site and take into consideration the existing features of the site and what suitable proposals to the site there could be. PROJECT 2: ROBERTO BURLE MARX ROBERTO BURLE MARX: 1909-1994 He was a Brazilian Landscape Architect, as well as painter, ecologist, naturalist, artist & musician. His designs of Parks and Gardens made him famous. He is accredited with having introduced modernist Landscape Architecture to Brazil. Burke Marx's work has had a great influence on tropical garden in the 20th Century. Water gardens were a popular theme of his work. He had a skill of transferring traditional artistic expressions such as graphic design, tapestry & folk art into his Landscape Design. He was one of the first people to call for the conservation of Brazils Rainforests. Over 50 plants bear his name. Many of Roberto Burle Marx's influences and inspirations came from Brazilian folk art and his background of fine art. Illustrator Practice

Each week I spend two days working in a multidisciplinary practice, working alongside the landscape team gaining invaluable knowledge and skills on my journey to becoming a landscape architect. Today I focused on creating a constraints and opportunities diagram for a site in Croydon in which we are working on.
