My morning was spent exploring the Tate Modern Gallery, to take a look around the inspiring exhibition of Agnes Martin.
The exhibition reflected her response to cubism, surrealism and abstract expressionist painting. Her later work became very minimal focusing almost entirely on vertical and horizontal lines, linking very well to our focus over the past few weeks.

The sketch (right) is from one of Agnes Martin's collections from her 'retrospective within retrospective exhibition'. I particularly love her use of delicate line weights and minimal colour usage. I find the use of lines therapeutic which may be the reason why she so heavily focused on using just lines during many of her later works.
